Pioneered by the Brandrith family in the beginning of South Delta, the land was sold over the years and came into the hands of Mr. Ted Gibbs of Saskatchewan in the early 60's.
Mr.Gibbs' began development in 1965 when the course opened in May of 1966 as the Tsawwassen Golf & Country Club. The Clubhouse was constructed and opened March 15, 1967 by Pan American Construction Co, out of Richmond, BC.
Dating back in history the Tsawwassen Golf & Country Club began relations with the Delta Parks & Recreation in April of 1968 offering programs for Junior Golf Development. Today, TGCC works closely with the Parks & Recreation offering Spring, Summer and Fall programs to both Junior's and Adults.
The Tsawwassen Golf & Country Club sold to a numbered company in 1989. In 1994 this company upgraded the facilities by adding meeting rooms and a sports lounge.
Shato Holdings purchased the property in January 2007, with plans for future development.
